Thank you and your 2020 Celtic Roots Festival Update

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
To all our attendees, thank you so much for all you did to help make the 2019 Goderich Celtic Roots Festival and College a huge success.

2020 ARTISTS

We are beyond excited to share the 2020 line-up with you as it stands now.
Of course, all are subject to change and there are still more artists to be added.

Ariko  We are so pleased to have this amazing trio of sisters from Ontario back with us in 2020

Beaton - Plasse Andrea Beaton and Véronique Plasse are two fiddlers who fuse music from Québec and Cape Breton, adding original compositions to the mix.

Bourque Émissaires This dynamic Father and Son duo from Quebec were one of the highlights of 2019

Emily Jean Flack Winner of our 2019 Young Tradition Award, this songwriter, singer, piano player and dancer, divides her time between Ireland and Ontario.

Emory Lester We are excited to have Emory return in 2020 for the College and Festival. He is one of today's foremost exponents of the acoustic mandolin.

Eve Goldberg Eve will be returning to teach Ukulele. She is the founder of the Parkdale Ukulele group in Toronto. She also leads a Ukulele Orchestra.

Joe Crookston is returning to Goderich as a beloved performer and teacher. He is a songwriter, story teller, fiddler, painter and an all around roots artist.

Joe Jencks for all our singers!! Joe has performed in Goderich as part of the trio Brother Sun, but is new to the College and Festival. He is an award-winning songwriter, and celebrated vocalist who merges conservatory training with his Irish roots and working-class upbringing.

Kruger Brthers is the group with the most requests to have return. In an ever-expanding body of work, Jens Kruger (banjo, vocals), Uwe Kruger (guitar, lead vocals), and Joel Landsberg (bass, vocals) personify the spirit of exploration and innovation that forms the core of the American musical tradition.

Mailinky Goderich fan favourites, they are contemporary champions of traditional Scots song. Malinky return to launch their 20th Anniversary Album HANDSEL

North Atlantic Drift Brian Taheny from Sligo, Ireland, Dan MacDonald from Cape Breton Island and Ross Griffiths from Ontario cerate a multi-instrumental, multi-styled celtic sound that is truly Canadian in its diversity.

It will include Anne Lederman (Metis, Old-Time, Cape Breton), Christina Smith/Jeannie Hewson from Newfoundland (fiddle, cello, guitar), Kimberley Fraser from Cape Breton (fiddle, piano, step-dance), Erynn Marshall from B.C. (Appalachian fiddling), Laura Risk (Scottish and French-Canadian fiddling).

RUNA A return in 2020, the band continues to push the boundaries of Irish folk music into the Americana and roots music formats. Interweaving the haunting melodies and exuberant tunes of Ireland and Scotland with the lush harmonies and intoxicating rhythms.
